Delivered by the Scottish Manufacturing Advisory Service (SMAS), the Business Improvement Academy (BIA) is a programme built to support manufacturers across Scotland to embed continuous improvement, strengthen leadership capability, and accelerate operational excellence. The programme has accreditation from Cardiff University’s Lean Competency System (LCS), a globally recognised benchmark in lean thought leadership.
Open to manufacturing and process-driven businesses of all sizes, the BIA offers an immersive, hands-on development experience. Participants are equipped with practical tools, coaching, and real-world methodologies that help businesses:
