The Scottish Connections Fund, created to strengthen Scotland’s global relationships through diaspora‑led initiatives, supports projects that promote Scottish culture, innovation, and international collaboration. By funding community‑driven work around the world, the Fund helps amplify Scotland’s identity and influence far beyond its borders.
The 2025-26 round marks the Fund’s most successful year to date, with eighteen projects selected from a record number of applications spanning six continents. This year’s awardees reflect the breadth of Scotland’s global community, delivering initiatives that celebrate the country’s music, literature and cultural heritage while also advancing new ideas in areas such as coding, education, and healthcare.
The 2025–26 cohort demonstrates the continued impact of Scotland’s diaspora in nurturing global relationships and showcasing Scottish creativity and talent. Through the Scottish Connections Fund, these communities are helping shape a dynamic and outward‑looking Scotland, connected to partners and audiences around the world.
A highlight of this year’s programme is the recognition of Scots in London Events Ltd for their project, the Kidlit Scotland Roadshow and St Andrew’s Day Reading Record as part of the St Andrew's Book Festival. This initiative will bring award‑winning Scottish children’s authors into London schools, introducing young readers to Scotland’s vibrant literary scene and strengthening cultural ties between Scotland and one of the world’s most international cities, building on the strong literary connections already established in the city. In recent years, Scotland House London has supported major cultural moments such as the launch party for the St Andrew’s Book Festival and its Opening Gala, hosted in partnership with leading Scottish writers and artists, helping to promote Scottish creativity to London audiences.
