Scots in London Gala Evening

New initiative Scots in London is delighted to announce its inaugural Gala Evening on Wednesday 11th October 2023. With an official opening by our Patron HRH The Princess Royal, the evening will bring the Scottish diaspora community in London together through a showcase of Scottish culture alongside opportunities for networking and good cheer.

Highlights from the concert programme include traditional music from a Scottish folk duo, a joint performance by the ScotsCare Choir and the Choir with no Name with celebrated traditional singer Isla St Clair, piping from the members of the Pipes and Drums of the London Scottish Regiment, a recitation from Downton Abbey’s actor David Robb, and a Highland Dance display.

Scots in London was founded by Scottish organisations based in London - clubs, societies, charities, churches, regiments, government – to bring people together by running events and by co-ordinating and publicising the activities of our members and other Scottish groups. Our purpose is to advance Scottish culture and heritage generally, and also to promote the social inclusion of people of Scottish heritage and others, in London and the South East of England.

The gala evening will take place at St Columba’s Church of Scotland, Pont Street, SW1X 0BD. The performance starts at 7pm (doors open at 6.30pm), to be followed by a reception with drinks and canapes, and live Scottish music. At the reception, member organisations will host information stalls, offering an opportunity for ticket holders to connect with others in London’s Scottish community.
