In May we saw the launch of A Trading Nation, the Scottish Government plan for supporting Scottish companies to increase their export growth.
A key focus of the plan is how we engage and leverage our international networks and specifically, the GlobalScot Network, to support businesses in driving export growth in the countries of opportunity for Scotland – with London playing an important role as a platform for growth. For Scotland House members - and for any Scottish business - GlobalScot is a free support service for you to access and benefit from this experienced international network to advise and help drive your growth plans. GlobalScots share a passion to support Scotland and Scottish business growth. Members will typically support Scottish exporters and potential exporters by promoting Scottish products and services in a way that resonates with their local market, providing Scottish businesses with market insight and market entry advice, introducing Scottish businesses to local contacts and networks, mentoring executives on how to maximise export opportunities, host international trade delegations, meet directly with businesses when visiting Scotland or through themed masterclasses designed to raise awareness of market opportunities and what is needed to address them.
The Trading Nation plan identifies fifteen high priority export markets offering immediate opportunities for Scottish companies with Germany, France, Netherlands, Switzerland and Norway of particular interest. We are committed to growing the GlobalScot network our high priority markets to support your export growth and very keen to hear from Scotland House members on your export plans to these countries and any current challenges you are facing in accessing opportunities, advice and support in these countries. We can then identify any new or existing GlobalScots to support you these needs in the form of 1:1 introductions, events, roundtables or webinars.
